 Heaven Bound

Many Christians have questioned assurance of salvation. They may be going through a time of emotional unsteadiness. Perhaps they have allowed doubt to creep in or are being led by their emotions. They may be going through a time of spiritual dryness and they might not experiencing joy in their spiritual walk.  Sin can take on the form of MANY things. Some Christians think  they are not good enough to receive God's forgiveness and eternal reward.  Be assured that many struggle with these doubts from time to time.

Consider these helpful suggestions:

Ask the Lord to reveal un-confessed sin. Then follow through by repenting.

Read your Bible daily. Study specific verses about salvation.

Pray regularly. Talk to God and ask that He help you.

Trust the Lord. Remember He loves you greatly.

Rebuke doubt.

Offer praise and thanksgiving to God. Do not let feelings rob you of your joy.

Questions which Satan uses to cause doubt in a weak Christian's mind:

"Does God really mean what He says?" -- This was the question that Satan asked Eve (Genesis 3:1). Can you believe what God says? Numbers 23:19 gives a reply to this question: Numbers 23:19 God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?  God can be trusted to fulfil EVERYTHING He promises. If you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, what He has done for YOU and God says you are saved, then "God said it and I believe it and that settles it for me."

Assurance of Salvation:

The BLOOD bought Born Again Believer in Jesus Christ CANNOT EVER LOSE SALVATION because :-

 1.   Eternal Life means ETERNAL LIFE Ė John 3:15, John 10:28, Rom. 6:23, 1John 2:25, 1John 5:11, 1John 5:13 etc; In scripture eternal life ALWAYS means forever, without end, never ending. Once a believer has eternal life, he has it FOREVER.

Advocates for losing salvation would have to conclude from their own private interpretation that in the Gospel of Mark that someone could possibly get out of hell. (Mark 3:29  But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation:)

 2.  Everlasting Life means EVERLASTING LIFE John 3:16, John 3:36, John 5:24, John 6:40, John 6:47; Rom. 6:22; etc; Likewise everlasting ALWAYS means lasting forever in the scriptures.

Again the insecurist ( or screw loose ) advocates must consider the punishment in Hell being fixed if they apply it to the Book of Matthew (Matthew 25:46  And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.)

3.  God has made a promise to the believer. John 6:39  And  this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.; Jesus says of the believer with eternal life that no man will pluck them away (John 10:27-29  My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.

God has PROMISED that the believer shall NEVER PERISH, that every saint is safe in the hand of Christ.  Also the believer is safe in the Fatherís hand.

The good shepherd will never allow the wolves escape with ANY sheep, even if itís the dumbest, screwiest sheep in the world, they are  still the good Shepherds sheep, they are safe! (John 10:11-16  I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep.  The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep. I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine. As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep. And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.)

By claiming a saved person can LOSE his/her salvation, these unscrupulous screw loose insecurists are calling the Lord Jesus  a hireling who will forsake His sheep!

4. HEAVEN IS RESERVED FOR HIM 1 Peter 1:4  To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, When God makes the reservation in Heaven for the believer you can be assured that nothing will foil His plans, not even a  doubting Thomas!

5. HE IS SEALED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT  Ephesians 1:13  In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, ; NOWHERE! in the scriptures can you find Godís seal  broken. NOWHERE!   HE IS SEALED UNTO THE DAY OF REDEMPTION!  Ephesians 4:30  And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. ; Again the Holy Spirit of God seals the believer and the seal stands firm. The believer is preserved ďuntil the redemption of the purchased possessionĒ ( Eph 1:14) and ďsealed unto the day of redemption.Ē (Eph 4:30)

6. HOLY SPIRIT WILL ABIDE FOREVER!  John 14:16-17  And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. ; The Holy Spirit stays with you forever and never leaves you. The Lord is that Spirit (2 Cor 3:17) and that Spirit is Christ in you (Col 1:27)

7.  HE IS BORN OF GOD John 1:12-13  But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:  Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.   The believer is born again ( John 3:7) into the family of God, the believer CANNOT be unborn again when he sins.

8.  HE IS A NEW CREATURE IN CHRIST   2 Corinthians 5:17  Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. ; The new creature is new for the rest of his days on earth. The believer doesnít live for 50 years and become an old crony creature. His body might become decrepit but he is still a new creature in Christ.

9.  HE IS PRESERVED 2 Timothy 4:18  And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. ;

The heavenly kingdom is above in the third heaven and God is Sovereign over all His dominion (Rev 12:10). The Christian is PRESERVED unto Godís presence in Heaven.

10.   He will not come in to condemnation concerning salvation John 5:24  Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

The blood bought Christian has ALREADY overcome (1 John 4:4) and will NOT  be judged concerning entry into heaven. Man is justified by trusting on the sacrificial blood of the Lamb of God at Calvary for his life. (Romans 5:18  Therefore as by the offence of one {Adam} judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one {Jesus Christ} the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.)

However, the blood bought Christian can still come into condemnation concerning his works as a Christian (Romans 8:1-13) If the Christian is carnally minded and walks after the flesh, God might take the Christian's joy, or health, or He might even kill the Christian, but the Christian STILL  goes to Heaven. The things that a rebel  Christian can lose are his rewards. See 'How much worth.'

11.   He has passed from death to life John 5:24  Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

The believer has passed from death unto life the moment of belief and trusts on the Lord Jesus Christ. A spiritual operation (circumcision)  made without hands takes place. ( Col 2:11-14) Nowhere in the scripture is this ever hinted at being reversed and the believers soul being re-attached. In fact the word tells the believer that the Lord Jesus rubbed the devils noses in it (so to speak) Colossians 2:15  And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.  Do you really think God would leave it open for the devils to sneer at HIM and say ďso much for your bragging on your Christians because where has it got them, their going to hell now that they have lost their salvation.Ē  But rather the Christian says with FULL ASSURANCE Romans 8:38-39  For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. AMEN!!

 12. HE IS A PART OF CHRIST   Ephesians 5:30  For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.; Every believer is a part of Christís body. How anyone can suppose that when a Christian sins, the Lord snaps off a big toe or nose is just ridiculous. Picture it in your mind, the Lord has built his church, his bride is just perfect awaiting the wedding feast.  Alas! catastrophe, one of the ears backslide and has to be flung in the fire, but that's no trouble; weíll just get someone else.  What do you think happens? The new ear doesnít match the other ear, itís bigger than the old ear and itís the wrong colour! NO! I donít think so!

13. GOD IS ABLE TO KEEP HIM 2 Timothy 1:12  For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day. The believerís salvation doesnít rely on keeping himself perfect until death, but rather as the verse says God is able to keep the believer safe and secure unto that day ( Judgement Day). The believer puts his trust in the Lord, and the Lord will fulfil His promise, we KNOW the Lord will do right (Gen 18:25). The Lord will not rely on man to do right and stay sin free and make the Lord look like a fool with His promises. We donít get into heaven by God looking at our righteousness. We get into Heaven by God looking at the imputed righteousness of the Lord Jesus Christ. That means that He became ďsin for us, who knew no sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God in himĒ (2 Cor. 5:21). We are made righteous in Jesus, and He cannot deny himself regardless what we do, (2 Timothy 2:13  If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.)

Even if a saved person falls into sin, he will NEVER be cast out of the body of Christ. That person will still go to heaven because God holds him up with his hand.  (Psalms 37:23-24  The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.  Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand.)  The child of God may take a belt from the Lord, but his salvation is sure (Psalms 89:26-34  He shall cry unto me, Thou art my father, my God, and the rock of my salvation. Also I will make him my firstborn, higher than the kings of the earth. My mercy will I keep for him for evermore, and my covenant shall stand fast with him. His seed also will I make to endure for ever, and his throne as the days of heaven. If his children forsake my law, and walk not in my judgments; If they break my statutes, and keep not my commandments;  Then will I visit their transgression with the rod, and their iniquity with stripes. Nevertheless my lovingkindness will I not utterly take from him, nor suffer my faithfulness to fail.  My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips.)

14. SALVATION IS A FREE GIFT  Romans 5:18  Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life. A FREE GIFT is given with NO conditions. God is NOT an Indian-giver. He doesn't give and then take back. "The gifts and calling of God are without repentance" (Rom. 11:29), and one of the gifts of God is eternal life, for "the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Rom. 6:23)

15. HE WILL NEVER BE CAST OUT    John 6:37  All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. The sinner has come unto Jesus with heavy burdens and the Lord Jesus promises rest (Matthew 11:28-30  Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.) How can anyone have rest when the yoke is relying upon sinful flesh to make it to heaven?

16. ALL THINGS WORK TOGETHER FOR GOOD TO HIM     Romans 8:28  And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.     The Christian is told by Paul that all things work together for good to them that love God. It canít be good to be rejected from heaven.

17. GOD CANNOT LIE    Titus 1:2  In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;  Once God has saved a believer, he CANNOT go back on His word. Our hope IS of eternal life (Titus 3:7  That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.) We also have a witness within us that will not lie . (Romans 8:16-17  The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.) The Lord Jesus Christ dwells in us. (Colossians 1:27  To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:)

 18. HIS SINS ARE GONE FOREVER    Colossians 2:14  Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;    AMEN  and HALLELUJAH!!

19. GOD WILL FINISH WHAT HE STARTED    Philippians 1:6  Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:     The work in the Christian is Godís work and He will finish it, so be confident! Psalms 138:8  The LORD will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O LORD, endureth for ever: forsake not the works of thine own hands.

20. HE IS KEPT FROM FALLING BY CHRIST Jude 1:24  Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,       What a charge to bring on the Lord Jesus Christ by the insecurists,  that itís the Lordís fault if the Christian falls and goes to hell because He was to keep the Christian from falling, to present him faultless. The Christian is told nothing will separate us from Christ   ( Romans 8:35-39  Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.)

There is NO WAY a saved soul can ever lose salvation. No AMOUNT of troubles or tribulations would lose your salvation.. No danger or war can make you lose your salvation.. No angels, or devils, or powerful people, or any other kind of creature, can cause ANY saved person the lose of salvation. Nothing above you and nothing below you can make you lose your salvation. No sin past, present or future , can ever make you lose your salvation! for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. Heb 13:5  and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. Mt 28:20

If anybody says you can lose your salvation, they CHOOSE to call Jesus  Christ a liar ( Job 9:20  If I justify myself, mine own mouth shall condemn me: if I say, I am perfect, it shall also prove me perverse.)

What do the Insecurists have hope in?

The root of the trouble about these people who think a Christian can lose his salvation goes a great deal deeper than just being confused on doctrine. At the bottom and base of this thing is a self-righteous person who wants his works to be part of his salvation. They also have a complete disregard for WHAT God said in His Holy Writ. WHAT God said becomes immaterial when it crosses their opinions. These people are called "IGNORANT "  lest they should be wise in their own conceits;  Romans 11:25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.

The problem with the child of God who comes to this Book and begins to preach that he or more likely somebody else can lose salvation is:

Number One: Self-righteousness takes control.

Number Two: Worldly judgements are placed before God's word.

Number Three: Becomes ignorant of the word and the Word.

If you can think of a better combination for a carnal apostate, I've never heard of it. That's all we need in the last century is a bunch of self-righteous, worldly, ignorant Christians. That'll do the job, won't it?

I will write according to their own folly. ( Proverbs 26:5  Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own conceit.)

These insecurists say the whole of the New Testament is aimed at the Christian. They quote verses all over the ship to say that the Christian can lose his salvation. So here is one for them.

Hebrews 10:26  For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,

They claim to have knowledge of the truth, so if they commit a sin, they do it wilfully. There is no more sacrifice for them. Theyíve blown their chances for Heaven. Take a look at the scriptures that describe sin, nobody could keep that up for very long. Remember just one slip and to Hell ye go!

1. Unbelief
John 16:9 Of sin, because they believe not on me;

2. ALL lawlessness
1 John 3:4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

3. All unrighteousness
1 John
5:17 All unrighteousness is sin:

4. Failing to do good
James 4:17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.

5. A high look, a proud heart, and the plowing of the wicked
Prov 21:4 An high look, and a proud heart, and the plowing of the wicked, is sin.

6. Whatsoever is not of faith
Romans 14:23 And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.

7. A thought of foolishness
Prov 24:9 The thought of foolishness is sin: and the scorner is an abomination to men.

8. Respect of persons
James 2:9 But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.

9. Hasteth with your feet
Prov 19:2 Also, that the soul be without knowledge, it is not good; and he that hasteth with his feet sinneth.

10. Despising your neighbour
14:21 He that despiseth his neighbour sinneth:

11. Talking too much
10:19 In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin: but he that refraineth his lips is wise.

12. Bad testimony
1 Cor 8:12 But when ye sin so against the brethren, and wound their weak conscience, ye sin against Christ.

13. Provoking someone to anger
Prov 20:2 The fear of a king is as the roaring of a lion: whoso  provoketh him to anger sinneth against his own soul.

14. Heresy
Titus 3:10,11 A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject; Knowing that he that is such is subverted, and sinneth, being condemned of himself.

The screw loose insecurists try to counter this verse Hebrews 10:26  by running to  1 John 1:9  If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

But this reasoning wonít do either, because their big charge on Eternal Security is that it encourages the saint to sin.  So what is the difference between being secure and not, if all you have to do is confess our sins and then weíre forgiven anyhow? DUH!

The screw loose insecurists tend to think that EVERYONE ELSE can lose their salvation BAR themselves! They have an holier than thou attitude in public and a sorrowful countenance in private. They have lost the joy of the Lord Jesus ( and not surprisingly!)

Little do they realise that they are a stumbling block to other Christians and an offence.

The question asked, is what is their hope? The answer is they have NONE! No hope whatsoever because they never know if they will make it to heaven. They are always on tender hooks.

The Christian DOES have hope whither alive or dead! Please read  and believe what it says ( 1 Thessalonians 4:14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.) So the Christian has this hope for the future (1 Thessalonians 4:13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.) These insecurists have lost this hope and they sorrow as the unbelievers do! The only thing is, if they are saved they don't lose their salvation, but they just have the most miserable time of their life.

Hebrews 6:19 Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, ...
