"I
am much afraid that the schools will prove the very gates of hell unless
they diligently labour in explaining the Holy Scriptures...I advise no one
to place his child where the Scriptures do not reign paramount".
Luther
- 16th century Reformation language

Scriptures says -
Train
up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart
from it.
Proverbs 22:6
Does this really refer only to
Sunday Schools, quiet times and the Christian home, or do we need also to
consider the time spent in education and schooling in the same light?
Until the end of the 19th century,
most education in the country was delivered through Christian institutions.
Many of our most famous schools and universities ( including Oxford and and
Cambridge) had a specifically Christian foundation and purpose.
The secularism of current education
has been to the great detriment of our children and our nation. Values
of righteousness, truth, morality, love, purity, honour and family have
largely disappeared in the amoral melee of post modern culture with it's
espousal of a secular 'neutrality' which tends to accept that everything (
except Biblical Christianity) is good for all. We do not believe this
secularization is Biblically mandated. If you do not agree we invite
you to consider these issues.
Although there are some long
standing Christian- based schools, in the last 30 years God has moved many
to rekindle Christian education in this country through Christian schools
and Christian home schools. However, we have been surprised and
disappointed by a general lack of interest, if not antagonism, found in some
churches.

The Bible
talks about a curriculum : -
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are
honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever
things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any
virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
Philippians 4:8
Set your affection on things above, not on things on
the earth. Colossians 3:2
Love not the world, neither the things that are in
the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
1 John 2:15
And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath:
but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.
Ephesians 6:4
But refuse profane and old wives' fables, and
exercise thyself rather unto godliness.1
Timothy 4:7
O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust,
avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so
called:
1Timothy 6:20

The
Bible encourages us in the company we keep: -
He that walketh
with wise men shall be wise: Proverbs 13:20
And the king communed with them; and among them all was found none like
Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah: therefore stood they before the
king. Daniel 1:19
We have a
responsibility to God and to our children, it plainly states in
the King James Bible

And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them
when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when
thou liest down, and when thou risest up.
Deuteronomy 6:7
We are to be the salt of the earth, so
a child needs raising in admonition of the Lord to keep that salt, otherwise
they will soon grow up and lose their substance
Ye are the salt of the earth:
but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is
thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under
foot of men. Matthew 5:13

The benefits in having
Christian
Home-school
Education

consistency of lifestyle

commitment to God's service
high level of educational achievement
wise and healthy choice of close friends and spouses

We
would like to encourage you to consider a Christian education
For he established a testimony in Jacob, and appointed a law in Israel,
which he commanded our fathers, that they should make them known to their
children: That the generation to come might know them, even the children
which should be born; who should arise and declare them to their children:
That they might set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but
keep his commandments: And might not be as their fathers, a stubborn and
rebellious generation; a generation that set not their heart aright, and
whose spirit was not stedfast with God. Psalms
78:5-8

Here are
some of many verses in the Bible that encourages us to raise our children in
a way that God would have us do!

Lo,
children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his
reward. As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the
youth. Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not
be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.
Psalms 127:3-5
And he lifted up
his eyes, and saw the women and the children; and said, Who are those with
thee? And he said, The children which God hath graciously given thy
servant. Genesis 33:5
And
Israel beheld Joseph's sons, and said, Who are these? And Joseph said unto
his father, They are my sons, whom God hath given me in this place. And he
said, Bring them, I pray thee, unto me, and I will bless them. Genesis
48:8-9
Behold,
I and the children whom the LORD hath given me are for signs and for
wonders in Israel from the LORD of hosts, which dwelleth in mount Zion. Isaiah
8:18
And again, I
will put my trust in him. And again, Behold I and the children which God
hath given me. Hebrews 2:13

Children
belong to God

They say
unto him, Caesar's. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto
Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are
God's. Matthew 22:21
And these
words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:
And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of
them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way,
and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. And thou shalt bind
them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between
thine eyes. And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on
thy gates. Deuteronomy 6:6-9

And all
thy children shall be taught of the LORD; and great shall be the peace of
thy children. Isaiah 54:13
And,
ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the
nurture and admonition of the Lord.
Ephesians 6:4
Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at
the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. Jeremiah 10:2

Jesus said unto
him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and
with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
Matthew 22:37
And be not
conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your
mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect,
will of God. Romans 12:2
Train
up a child in the way he should go: and when he is
old, he will not depart
from it. Proverbs 22:6
He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall
be destroyed. Proverbs 13:20
Be not
deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.1
Corinthians 15:33

Who
is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a
good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom. But if ye have bitter
envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the
truth. This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual,
devilish. For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every
evil work. But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then
peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good
fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. And the fruit of
righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.
James 3:13-18

So what does the Lord think of those who do not suffer little children?
But whoso
shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better
for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were
drowned in the depth of the sea.
Matthew
18:6
The pure
bliss and joy of our Lord
O how love
I thy law! it is my meditation all the day. Thou through thy commandments
hast made me wiser than mine enemies: for they are ever with me. I have
more understanding than all my teachers: for thy testimonies are my
meditation. I understand more than the ancients, because I keep thy
precepts. I have refrained my feet from every evil way, that I might keep
thy word. I have not departed from thy judgments: for thou hast taught me.
How sweet are thy words unto my taste! yea, sweeter than honey to my
mouth! Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every
false way. Psalms 119:97-104
